Hi. I am Art. I have been a writer my entire life (way before I was paid to be one). As a child I was fascinated by the ads I saw and was the one who stayed in the room–head on hands; glued to the TV–when the commercials came on, while everyone else shuffled about the house. That might explain why I have been an advertising copywriter my entire adult career.
An art director once described what I do as: “writing beautiful lies for a living,” which was funny, but not at all true from my perspective. I believe you cannot make a strong ad without first telling the truth … then taking that truth and making it memorable, by relating it to the receiver and evoking some emotion from that person.
I am a Christian and I have written a self-help book for other Christians who may have had the same struggles I have. I am looking for a proofreader for my book (preferably Christian) and thought I might ask you for your advice on who you would recommend.
Thank you,
Art
