JohannaCraig
JOHANNA C. CRAIG has extensive experimental design and data generation/analysis experience, ranging in scope from basic biochemical and molecular biology to high-throughput microarray and genome-based projects. She is adept at performing multivariate statistics and analyses, and helped pioneer the application of Principal Components Analysis (PCA) to gene expression data, which is now used commonly as a powerful tool for exploring gene expression interactions (Craig, J.C., Eberwine, J.H., Calvin, J.A., Wlodarczyk, B., Bennett, G.D., and Finnell, R.H. 1997. Developmental expression of morphoregulatory genes in the mouse embryo: An analytical approach using novel technologies. Biochemical and Molecular Medicine. 60:81-91.). She uses R language, SAS, GeneSpring and PathwayAssist to produce high-quality, robust statistical analyses. She also provides publication-quality graphical representations of the data, including in-depth cellular pathway diagrams of biological mechanisms, cluster graphics and heat maps for microarrays.

"Exceptional writing ability is a blend of innate talent and fastidiously refined skill. With Debra for a writing consultant, I have benefited from both the art and craft of her natural abilities and professional commitment to excellence. Not only is she an insightful visionary who perceives the completed project as it takes shape, she exemplifies the best in teacher as coach, guiding progress toward the author's desired goals. She possesses exceptional communication skills, a wealth of knowledge about educational theories and practices, and a work ethic that places a high priority on the quality and timeliness of service. In short, she delivers with the utmost integrity. Anita F. White, Principal, Littleton Elementary School, Avondale, Arizona
Debra clearly sees her role as one of a collaborator and does not hesitate to make the investment of time and attention-to-detail necessary to provide quality work. I learned a great deal from her through the course of our collaboration together. HughGlenn
DR. HUGH W. GLENN, author, editor, and grant writer, taught writing and technical writing to college and university students. For several years, he worked full-time as a grant writer for a nonprofit corporation in southern California, securing several hundred thousand dollars from foundations and government agencies for maintaining a homeless shelter and for building and equipping a child development center. A grant proposal must match the grant givers criteria for awarding grants, says Dr. Glenn. The proposal presents an argument, supported by compelling evidence, to persuade the grant giver that your organization, more than any other applicant, should receive the award."

Madelaine
Madelaine Lawrence, PhD, is a successful grant writer, grant writing consultant and researcher. She has worked with Mohegan Community College, Visiting Nurses Associations, and graduate students to successfully obtain grant money for projects. One student obtained $1,000.00 to pay for the "Winston Man" to talk to High School students on the dangers of smoking. The graduate student evaluated the impact of his talk. Dr. Lawrence was also a member of a committee that received a $1,000,000.00 Robert Wood Johnson grant for Hartford Hospital in CT for hospital redesign. She was also successful in receiving funding for her own research projects:
-- Communications with Unconscious Patients through heart Rate Variability
-- A Prospective Study of Near-Death Experiences
-- Effectiveness of a Writing for Publication Seminar Series on Publishing Behaviors
-- Recollections of Previously Unconscious Patients.
-- Impact of a Writing for Publication Workshop on Writing Behaviors.
-- Impact of a Physical Assessment Course on Nursing Practice.
-- An investigation of the Knowledge Base Used by Critical Care Nurses. (Doctoral dissertation, funded)
Dr. Lawrence's research received national attention on television and the public media. She is also a book author, convention speaker, hypnotherapist, newsletter editor and health care consultant.
I am a developing writer with traditional issues. Poor grammar, weak punctuation and tendency to write long unclear sentences are just a few of my issues. Madelaine provided suggestions and corrections in a very helpful and constructive manner. Her style has encouraged me to continue working on my writing skills. I would strongly recommend her. Contact info on request.
Madelaine was a Godsend. She saved my sanity and my masters project. She helped me to tighten up my masters project and to synthesize the information that I had into a workable document. Alan Ford, RN, UNC Scope: Grantwriting; dissertation advising, health promotion, research, hypnotherapy
